Class of '79

Here’s one for you 16th veterans out there, particularly those of you who appear on this photo of the Scout Troop from 1979 taken in the old Scout hut behind the Church Hall and Vicarage.

Apologies to those whose names escape me for now . . .

Joyce Brooks tells me that she has recently been to a wedding in Reading where she met former Scout Amrish Patel. Amrish’s family moved to Morecambe from Uganda and operated the former Shaw’s Confectioners premises on Lancaster Road – now the ‘Spar’ shop.

Amrish, who now lives in LA,  is a regular reader of this website (good man!) and would be interested I understand in renewing old acquaintances. I hope to have his email soon so that he may be contacted; watch this space . . .

This prompts me to suggest compiling a list of former Scouts, and as things go these days, their associated exotic locations in the world as many, no doubt, have moved away from sunny Morecambe. So, let us know who and where you are by using the CONTACT LINK on the website.
